I’m the one who steps from the shadows, all trenchcoat and cigarette and arrogance, ready to deal with the madness. Oh, I’ve got it all sewn up. I can save you. If it takes the last drop of your blood, I’ll drive your demons away. I’ll kick them in the bollocks and spit on them when they’re down and then I’ll be gone back into darkness, leaving only a nod and a wink and a wisecrack. I walk my path alone… who would walk with me?— HELLBLAZER.
[ So I kept all of the things that I actually liked about Constantine, substituted Paul Bettany as John, and changed the storyline. The First of the Fallen is a much better premise, anyway. ]

“The world is split into two kinds of people, those who would go out for a drink with John Lennon, and those who’d choose Paul McCartney … After The Beatles came back from India, Lennon wrote “Happiness Is a Warm Gun” and McCartney wrote “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da”. End of argument.”
“… reading to both my kids has always been important. My wife, Jennifer, and I read to them every night. It’s the most delicious time of the day when your child is all sleepy and cuddly and they get to snuggle up and you read them a bedtime story. It’s the bit of parenting that makes up for when they’re screaming and shouting at you.”
“What are his weaknesses?”
“Um, sausages, Wagner, men in leather shorts.”

After all, it was his job. Moral issues were his home ground. To think that he might doubt his own purity was really to think very little of him.
Tom was angry. And in the midst of it all, he discovered why. And realistically enough, he thought that if the doubt was already present, it could grow. Perhaps so great that one day it would prove detrimental to his entire moral mission.’

They’ve never been that close, but agree to move into the house in order to make sorting through their father’s possessions much easier for the two of them, and thus that is exactly what they do. Bethany, however, has her reservations; her childhood was plagued by the unsettling feeling that she was being watched, that someone was in her room with her, and so when moving day arrives, she’s quick to choose any other room to sleep in except her own. Changing rooms, however, doesn’t seem to have helped. She has trouble sleeping due to the notion that someone she can’t see is in her room, observing her every move, and informs Natalie that she thinks there’s a ghost in the house, or some sort of spirit. Natalie, however, always pragmatic and logical, puts it down to grief and thinks nothing of what she’s told.
It’s only when Bethany starts seeing a physical manifestation of the ghost that haunts her that things start to develop; Thomas (Bettany), as he calls himself, is a former resident of the house and has unfinished business he wants Bethany to help him settle. She reluctantly agrees, and in between sorting out her father’s affairs with Natalie, helps Thomas come to terms with his own death and settle his affairs. However, as the two spend more time together, other issues arise—can you love someone who’s been dead since before you were born?

The cerebral stuff is impossible to talk about, because little thoughts come to you maybe when you’re having a poo.
